Since 1989 images do not need to include a specific copyright claim.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Copyright of photographs of older works (paintings, museum objects, landmarks and buildings) belongs to the photographer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It does not matter how old the print\/ painting\/ object etc is \u2013 what matters is that the person who made the image (generally) owns the copyright.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Quick tips<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Start in the public domain<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Wikicommons and many museums and art galleries have explicitly placed images in the public domain.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Take your own pictures<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If you\u2019re doing a local study, why not take a photo yourself of a building, object, or landscape that you<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Generous attribution<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Include as much information about the images as you can.
