As part of the funding from the Scottish Government, Teaching Slavery in Scotland produced a suite of short videos. These videos are available on youtube and completely free to use in your lessons or uploaded to your school’s Virtual Learning Platform.
These videos are organised under two headings:
Historians in the Archives – These videos show an academic historian discussing a primary source from the time to show ‘how we know’ what happened during the period.
Historians in Conversation – These videos are short clips of experts discussing some of the key debates in histories of transatlantic slavery. These clips are useful to help teachers update their subject knowledge and allow a more complex and detailed understanding of the period. They are organised under a number of helpful subheadings:
